Complimentary Hotel Breakfast Abuse

Wow that sounds like a great band or song name. Yesterday in SOP group, one of my group mates was sharing about having her cell phone stolen. She works housekeeping at a hotel and left her phone on the cart near an exit door while she was cleaning up a room. Upon investigation of the camera footage, the staff security discovered someone who was not a hotel guest came in, gobbled down a bunch of free food, then afterwards walked out grabbing her cell phone on the way. I can imagine this sounding a bit confusing to normies, but I smiled as she talked about non hotel guests sneaking in and enjoying complimentary breakfasts. I've done that so many times before. Its a place where it's not uncommon to come in looking like you just woke up (or haven't slept at all) and carrying backpacks and luggage, perfect for homeless tweekers. It's very unfortunate that she lost her cell phone but I understand the behavior. By no means does that justify or make it right, though.

Today I'm grateful that I don't have to mooch off of paying hotel patrons and sneak free complimentary hotel breakfasts anymore. I'm grateful that I can buy my own coffee, bacon, eggs, oatmeal, cereal, and apple juice and enjoy it from the comfort of my own home.
